Hi, I am a new member to the group. My French is terrible so I will write in English. I have a CP-305 (C-FBZZ) in Toronto, Canada which I bought a few months ago. I don't know much about homebuilts so I will be asking the group for a lot of advice. Attached is a picture of the aircraft.

aeromatic prop
It is an aeromatic propeller which adjusts the pitch angle from fine to course and anywhere in between based on the dynamic forces on the prop. This is affected by airspeed and propeller rpm.

Hi,
Do you mean that there is no control of the propeller by some propeller lever inside the airplane ?
What is the material ? Wood, fiber or metal ?
And by the way, is it a home-made propeller or can we buy it somewhere ?

Aeromatic Prop
No, there is no control of the propeller pitch from inside the cockpit, just the throttle. When you add full power to takeoff or overshoot, it goes to fine pitch automatically. When you level out from a climb, speed up, and bring the power back, the prop goes into course pitch. So you get pretty good takeoff performance (2700 rpm) and you still get good cruise performance (120 mph). What cruise speeds do you guys get with your Emeraudes?

pas variable autonome
Ce système ressemble fort à celui du zlin 526f et autre Pilatus P2... Cela fait 50 ans que ça existe et pourtant le concept n'a pas été beaucoup repris! Pour ma par je vole sur zlin et j'ai participé plusieurs fois aux réglages hélice, je trouve que ce système possède beaucoup de qualités (robustesse, peu d'entretien, préserve le moteur et plein rendement de celui-ci en fonction des différentes phases de vol, etc...). Le seul bémol est que d'après certains il y a de drôles de réactions lors des figures telles que cloches ou renversements, je ne l'ai pour ma part jamais constaté. Appliqué à l'Emeraude ça doit fonctionner du tonnerre!!!
